Ailsa's Human Hair Wigs Washing and Care Instructions
Proper care and maintenance are essential to keep your wigs looking their best while ensuring longevity. Follow these washing and care instructions to keep your wigs in excellent condition:
1. Brush Before Washing:
Gently detangle the wigs using a wide-toothed comb or a wig brush. Start from the ends and work your way up to the roots to prevent damage.
2. Prepare a Basin or Sink:
Fill a basin or sink with lukewarm water. Avoid using hot water as this can damage the hair fibers.
3. Shampooing:
Use a sulfate-free, mild shampoo designed for human hair wigs. Pour a small amount of shampoo into the water and mix it gently.Submerge the wigs in the water, swirling them around gently to distribute the shampoo.
Avoid rubbing or twisting the hair.
Leave the wigs to soak for a few minutes.
4. Washing:
Gently squeeze the shampoo through the hair from root to tip.
Rinse the wigs under lukewarm running water until all shampoo residue is gone. Always rinse with the direction of the hair to prevent tangling.
5. Conditioning:
Apply a quality wig conditioner avoiding the roots or cap. Leave it on for a few minutes to help keep the hair soft and manageable.
Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water.
6. Drying:
Place the wigs on a clean, dry towel and gently cover to remove excess water. Do not rub or wring the wigs as this can cause damage. Allow the wigs to air dry on a wig stand or a clean smooth surface. Do not use a hairdryer as high heat can damage the hair fibers. Avoid exposing the wigs to direct sunlight or heat sources.
7. Styling:
Once the wigs are completely dry you can style them. Use only low heat settings on styling tools such as curling irons or straighteners. Use styling products designed for human hair wigs if needed but avoid overuse to prevent buildup.
8. Storage:
Store the wigs on a wig stand or in a breathable wig bag, when not in use, to maintain their shape and prevent tangling. Keep the wigs away from direct sunlight, heat, and humidity.
9. Maintenance:
It may be required to wash your wigs after every 10-12 wears, or as needed, depending on how often you wear them. Regularly brush or comb your wigs to prevent tangles and maintain its appearance.
