Once you have a Lewis and Ailsa human hair wigs that makes you love it and boost your confidence, it is important to know how to properly care for it. Learning how to wash human hair wigs properly can keep them in perfect condition for a long time, and it is easy to incorporate this daily maintenance into your life.

Washing human wigs

If your human hair wig needs careful care, cleaning is the first step.

Detangling

Before washing your human hair wig, gently comb it with your fingers, a Lewis and Ailsa special wig comb, or a wide-tooth comb to smooth out the hair. This step is crucial to prevent knots and tangles during washing. Remember, it is best to comb your hair before washing it, as combing it when it is wet may damage the hair fiber.

Soak the wig

Place your human wig under warm water, most conveniently at a sink so you always have everything you need. When soaking the wig, make sure the water is flowing in the same direction as the hair, which helps keep the wig smooth and tangle-free during the wash.

Shampoo

Once the wig is soaked, apply a small amount of wig shampoo to the top of the wig, then use your fingers to gently work the shampoo evenly into the ends of the hair. Remember, gentleness is key - avoid scrubbing or rubbing the wig roughly.

Rinse thoroughly

Put the wig under the tap and rinse off the shampoo with a gentle stream of water. Keep the water flowing in the same direction as your hair while rinsing. Although the running water will wash away most of the shampoo, you can still speed up the rinsing process by gently running your fingers through the wig.

Nourishing Conditioner

Next, use a special wig conditioner and gently apply it to the top of the wig, then as before, gently spread the conditioner evenly throughout the wig to avoid accumulating conditioner in one area.

Rinse out conditioner

Just like rinsing out shampoo, run your wig under the tap and let the water run through to remove any remaining conditioner. This will help strengthen your hair and reduce drying time.

Blow Drying Your Wig

Blow-drying Lewis and Ailsa human hair wigs requires extreme care to avoid damage. First, gently squeeze the wig with your hands to remove excess water, starting from the top and working your way down to the bottom. Then, lay the wig flat and place a towel on top and bottom (or use a folded towel) on top of the wig, carefully pressing the top towel to absorb the water. This will effectively remove most of the water and make the wig no longer wet.

To allow the wig to dry completely, keep it out of direct sunlight. This will allow the wig to maintain its natural shape while drying. As long as you are careful, your wig will be more charming and shiny.
